Devon Philip Conway is a South African–born New Zealand cricketer who plays for the New Zealand cricket team. A left-handed batsman and a wicket-keeper, Conway is known for his attacking style of play and his ability to score runs quickly. He has been a key player for New Zealand in recent years, and is considered to be one of the best batsmen in the world.
Early life and career
Conway was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 8 July 1991. He grew up playing cricket in the townships of Johannesburg, and quickly developed a reputation as a talented batsman. He made his first-class debut for Gauteng in 2009, and went on to play for the Dolphins and the Knights.
In 2017, Conway moved to New Zealand to play for Wellington. He quickly established himself as a key player for Wellington, and was named the men's domestic player of the year by New Zealand Cricket in 2020.
Domestic Career
Conway made an immediate impact for the Firebirds, and he quickly established himself as one of the leading batsmen in New Zealand domestic cricket. He scored over 500 runs in his first season, and he was named the Firebirds' player of the year.
Conway continued to score runs in the following seasons, and he was a key player for the Firebirds in their Plunket Shield victory in 2017–18. He was also selected for the New Zealand A team, and he toured England with the team in 2019.
In 2020, Conway signed for the Central Stags, and he scored over 1,000 runs for the team in the 2020–21 season. He was also selected for the New Zealand XI team that played against England in a warm-up match before the start of the 2021 Test series.
International Career
Conway made his international debut for New Zealand in November 2020. He made an immediate impact, scoring a double century on his Test debut against England at Lord's Cricket Ground. He has since gone on to become a regular member of the New Zealand team in all three formats of the game.

IPL Debut and Rise to Prominence:
