Political Career
Early Political Involvement
Rijiju's political journey began at a young age, influenced by his family's background and his interest in public service. He actively participated in student politics during his college years and gained experience working with various political and social organizations.
Entry into National Politics
Rijiju first entered national politics in 2004 when he was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Arunachal West constituency. He became one of the youngest MPs in the 14th Lok Sabha and quickly established a reputation as a dynamic and articulate leader.
Minister of State for Home Affairs (2014-2019): In 2014, Rijiju was appointed as the Minister of State for Home Affairs in the Narendra Modi-led government. In this role, he was responsible for handling internal security, border management, and disaster management, among other critical areas.
Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports (2019-2021): After the 2019 general elections, Rijiju was appointed as the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports. During his tenure, he focused on promoting sports at the grassroots level and improving infrastructure and facilities for athletes.
Minister of Law and Justice (2021-2023): In 2021, Rijiju took over as the Minister of Law and Justice. His tenure was marked by efforts to streamline judicial processes, improve access to justice, and implement legal reforms.
Minister of Earth Sciences (2023-Present): In 2023, Rijiju was appointed as the Minister of Earth Sciences, where he oversees initiatives related to oceanography, meteorology, and environmental conservation.

Infrastructure Development: Rijiju has been instrumental in advocating for and implementing infrastructure development projects in Arunachal Pradesh, including road construction, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions.
Sports Promotion: As the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, he launched the Fit India Movement and Khelo India initiative, aiming to promote physical fitness and sports participation among the youth.
