Gal Gadot is considered the biggest Israeli superstar, making her one of the highest-paid actresses of our time. Her humility, compassion, and strength continue to inspire women of all ages, making her a true Wonder Woman.
A Libra, born on April 30, 1985, Gadot grew up in Rosh HaAiyn, Israel, in a family of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, and in a Jewish-Israeli environment. As a student, Gadot attended Begin High School in Rosh Ha’aiyn, and during her sophomore year went on a Holocaust Memorial school trip in Poland. This was a meaningful part of her adolescent years, given her heritage, and an immersive experience. In an interview, she mentioned how she came home “more mature,” crying with her grandfather because he was a survivor of those difficult times. At 18 years old, she entered the 2004 Miss Israel beauty pageant and won the title, earning her a place to compete in Miss Universe.
Her career in the media and entertainment industry began soon after her win, as she engaged in international campaign features as a model for various brands. At age 20, Gadot had to serve in the Israeli Defense Forces as a combat fitness instructor, completing her mandatory military service. While attending college, she auditioned for various movie roles and was scouted by casting directors. It wasn’t until she landed the role of Gisele Yashar in “Fast and Furious” (2009) that she finally got her acting breakthrough, and she appeared in three other “Fast and Furious” installments.
Becoming Wonder Woman opened doors for her when she debuted in that role in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016). Following this movie, she starred in a solo film for the character and in the same year, appeared in a third DC film, “Justice League” (2017). These successes earned Gadot a spot on “Time” magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential People In The World’ list in 2018. Other projects she’s been involved in include “Ralph Breaks the Internet” (2018), Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” music video (2018), “Wonder Woman 1984” (2020), and “Red Notice” (2021).
