Gaurav Kapoor is an Indian Stand-Up Comedian. His genre of comedy is a mix of observational and anecdotal comedy. Gaurav earlier used to perform at various Open Mics, he has also won several Open Mic Competitions including 'Chalta Hai', 'Big Mic' and 'Buzz Off'. He got his Big Break after he opened the shows for famous comedians like Vir Das and Rusell Peters.
Gaurav Kapoor has two YouTube channels 'Gaurav Kapoor' and "Gaurav Kapoor Vlogs'. His main channel 'Gaurav Kapoor' has more than 1.26 million subscribers and over 272 Million views (as of October 2023). His second YouTube channel 'Gaurav Kapoor Vlogs' has more than 4 Lakh subscribers and over 126 Million views (as of October 2023).

EDUCATION  

Gaurav has done Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Journalism from Maharaja Agrasen College, Delhi University (2007 - 2010) ; Masters of Fashion Management from National Institute of Fashion Technology (2011 - 2013).

CAREER

Before starting his career as a Stand-Up Comedian, Gaurav was a Journalist and has worked for Asian News International (ANI) (July 2010 - December 2010) and 'My Mobile Magazine' (December 2010 - July 2011). 
He has also worked as a Retail Planner for 'Reliance Brands Limited' (January 2013 - May 2014).
Gaurav has also worked as an Assistant Manager at 'celio' (May 2014 - August 2014) and 'Pantalooms (September 2014- September 2017).

Talking about his career as a Stand-Up Comedian, his journey as a Stand-Up Comic started in 2015 when he started performing at various Open Mics in Mumbai. Gaurav used to perform at various Open Mics, with time he improved himself and then also won several Open Mic Competitions including 'Chalta Hai', 'Big Mic' and 'Buzz Off'. He got his Big Break after he opened the shows for famous comedians like Vir Das and Rusell Peters. Then he created his own YouTube channel started posting his Stand-Up Comedy videos on it. His channel 'Gaurav Kapoor' has more than 7.5 Lakh subscribers and over 75 Million views (as of September 2021).

Controversy

Gaurav Kapoor was once trolled and slammed by his audience to such an extent that his shows were cancelled. It happened on 6 April 2017 when Gaurav cracked jokes about the ‘Royal Enfield Bullet’ and its riders, in a stand-up video that he uploaded on his channel.

Instead of reciprocating the backlashes with abuse or violence, Gaurav did what he is best at, i.e., stand-up comedy. On 16 October 2017, he uploaded another video titled ‘Royal Enfield Joke & Internet Hate,’ in which he humorously responded to his haters and trollers. In the description of the video, he mentioned ‘If you like the video, COME TO LIVE SHOWS.’
