Sonu Nigam is a famous singer of Hindi films. Apart from Hindi , he has also sung in Kannada , Oriya , Tamil , Assamese , Punjabi , Bengali , Marathi and Ganga-Jamunamata Mandir Arjuni Morgao (36gadhi albums and films). He has made many indi-pop albums and acted in some Hindi films. State Highway 275 (Maharashtra).
Early life
Sonu Nigam has been singing since the age of four. She first sang Mohammed Rafi 's song 'Kya Hua Tera Wada' on stage with her father. Since then he started singing with his father at weddings and parties. As he grew older, he started participating in music competitions. At the age of 19, he came to Mumbai with his father to make singing his profession. He took lessons from classical singer Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan.
Playback Singing
For the first few years, Sonu had to struggle to make a name for himself. He started singing Mohammed Rafi songs mainly for T-Series ' Rafi Ki Yaadein albums. T-Series owner Gulshan Kumar gave him an opportunity to reach out to more people. Sonu sang his first song as a playback singer for the film 'Janam', which was never officially released. Sonu sang his first song for the Doordarshan serial Talaash (1992), followed by the song O Aasman Wale Jami in the film Aaja Meri Jaan (1993).But when he stepped into Bollywood, he started making advertisements on radio. He got big success when his sung song "Accha Sila Diya Tune Mere Pyar Ka" was released on 1 January 1993. Then in 1995, T-Series re-released this song in the film 'Bewafa Sanam' with Anuradha Paudwal. Later in 1995 , he started hosting Zee TV's famous show Sa Re Ga Ma . [1]Within a few days this program became very popular. His next success came in the form of the song 'Sandese Aate Hain' from the film 'Border' in 1997. His first solo album 'Deewana' came in 1999, in which he showed his love-songs and even today this album is one of the most successful albums in India. He stopped being called Mohammed Rafi's shadow when he sang the song 'Yeh Dil Deewana' in the Nadeem-Shravan music-directed film 'Pardes' in the same year. Since then, he has carved a niche for himself and has become a role model for generations to come. Since then, Sonu has become a prominent figure in the Indian music industry. He has done playback singing in many films and has also won many awards. Besides singing all kinds of songs, he has sung in many languages like Kannada, Assamese, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, English, Bhojpuri, Urdu.

Albums and concerts
Sonu Nigam has released pop-albums in Hindi, Oriya, Punjabi and Kannada. His latest outing in Hindi is 'Classically Mild' which is a mini-classical album. He has brought out albums of Mohammed Rafi's songs, along with Hindu and Islamic religious albums. In 2008, he also brought out a Punjabi song 'Punjabi Please' and a collection of Mohammed Rafi songs titled 'Rafi Resurrected', with music by the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. He has written and composed many of the songs in his album 'Chanda Ki Doli'. His last album is 'Neene Bari Neene' in Kannada.
