Kabir Granthawali : The verses and couplets of Kabir Saheb have been included in this book.

Kabir was not educated, so his couplets were written or collected by his disciples. Two of his disciples, Bhagodas and Dharmadas, cherished his literary legacy. Kabir's verses are also included in the scripture of Sikhism "Shri Guru Granth Sahib". Sri Guru Granth Sahib contains 226 couplets of Saint Kabir and among all the devotees and saints included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Saint Kabir has recorded the maximum number of couplets. Kshitimohan Sen had collected the couplets of Kabir from the saints of Kashi and other parts of the country. Rabindranath Tagore translated it into English and brought Kabir's speech on the world stage. Many scholars including Babu Shyamsundar Das, Acharya Ramchandra Shukla, Hazariprasad Dwivedi have written books on Kabir and his literary practice in Hindi.

To religion

There used to be a gathering of sages and saints at Kabir Saheb's place. Kabir Saheb ji pretended not to be educated in Kalyug, but in reality he himself is a scholar. You can guess this from his couplets like - 'Masi kagad chhuyo nahi, kalam gahi nahi haath'. ' He also did not write the book himself and by speaking words from his lotus mouth, he got his disciples to write them. The glory of Ram Naam (the real name of the Supreme Lord) resounds in all your thoughts. Kabir Parmeshwar believed in only one God and was strongly against rituals. Idol worship, fasting , Eid , Masjid , Temple , they thought that your salvation is not possible through these activities.

They say-

' Harimore piu, main Ram ki bahuriya' and sometimes they say, 'Hari Janani main Balak Tora'.

And sometimes " what happened when it grew up like a palm tree. Birds don't get shade and fruits are very far away. "

At that time people of both Hindu and Muslim religions used to consider Kabir Saheb as their enemy because he used to give information about God to both the religions by taking his Iktara, he used to explain that we all are the children of the same God. He kept his language simple and understandable so that it could reach the common man. Kabir Saheb ji loved a peaceful life and was an admirer of non-violence, truth, virtue etc. Due to his simplicity, saintly nature and saintly attitude, he is being respected even in foreign countries today. Kabir Saheb ji only believed in human religion.

'Pahan Puja Hari Milain, then I will worship Pahar.

Vaa te toh chaki bhali, PC khaya sansar.

Kabir Maya the sinner, took the trap and went away.

The whole world is trapped, Kabira is gone.

Meaning - Kabir Das ji says that this sinful illusion has come to the market with a noose. It has put a noose on many people , but Kabir has come out clean by cutting it. The one who puts a noose on the devotee of Hari himself gets trapped.

Couplets

Famous couplets of Kabir Sahib:

Bhaisanhi maah rahat nit bakula, takula taaki na linha ho.

Gaint maah bakelu nahi kabhu, kaise ka post pahichan bahu ho.

Kabir, don't my blood and bones, no worshiper of Satnaam knows.

Taran Taran Abhay post giver, I am Kabir indestructible.

Meaning: Kabir Saheb ji is saying in this speech that my body is not made of bones and flesh. The one who has got Satnaam and Saarnaam given by me, knows this difference of mine. I am the savior of all, and I am the imperishable God.

What should I ask, she didn't remain stable, she woke up when she saw her eyes. One lakh sons and one and a half lakh grandchildren, that Ravan's love does not matter.

Meaning: If a man wants to keep the line of descent from one of his sons forever, then it is his mistake. For example, King Ravana of Lanka had one lakh sons and 1.25 lakh grandchildren. At present, there is no one in his family to even light a lamp in the house. Everyone got destroyed. That's why O human! What do you ask from God which is not permanent at all.

Satsukrit Kaha Tera in Satyug, Treta Naam Munindra Mera. In Dwapar he was called Karunamay, in Kalyug he was named Kabir.

Meaning : God Kabir comes in all the four ages. Kabir Sahib Ji has told that in Satyug my name was Sat Sukrit. In Treta Yuga my name was Muninder, in Dwapar Yuga my name was Karunamay and in Kalyug my name was Kabir.

Kabir, if you worship stones, if you get Hari, I will worship Pahar. The mill is good if you run, the world eats the grind.

Meaning : While explaining to the Hindus, Kabir Saheb says that you worship any deity by making a stone idol, which is a practice against the scriptures. Which cannot give us anything. Better worship the mill than worshiping them, from which we get flour to eat.

Don't ask the caste of the monk, ask knowledge. Buy the sword, leave the sheath lying.

Meaning : While taking a dig at the casteism prevalent among Hindus, God Kabir used to say that one should not ask a person about his caste, but should talk about knowledge. Because the real value is of the sword, not of the scabbard.

It was a long time to return the garland, the mind did not turn around. Give the bead of tax, turn the bead of the mind.

Meaning : Kabir Saheb, through his above speech, is making a sarcasm on those people who spin the rosary in their hands for a long time, but their mood does not change, their agitation does not calm down. Kabir ji tells such a person to stop turning this rosary of the hand and divert the mind from worldly ostentatiousness and engage it in devotion.

Human birth is rare, not found again and again. The leaves fall from the tree, the daughter-in-law does not feel afraid.

Meaning : While explaining the importance of human life to both Hindus and Muslims, God Kabir says that it is difficult to get a human birth. You don't get this body again and again. The fruit that falls down from the tree does not grow on its branch again. Similarly, after leaving the human body, it is not easy to get human birth again, and there is no option left but to repent.

Water banana bubbled, this is the caste of the mind. One day it will hide like a star at dawn.

Meaning : While advising people to do good deeds, Kabir Saheb is telling people the truth of this transitory human body that the human body is transitory like a bubble of water. Just like the stars hide at dawn, similarly this body will also be destroyed one day.

Kabir Das's words

Kabirdas says that this world is a game of Maya, by studying in the game of Maya, the soul forgets its God. But without breaking the illusion and meeting God, he does not get peace in any way. The way to break this trap of Maya can be known only by the grace of Sadguru. Without the grace of Sadguru it is very difficult to see God.

Kanchan and Kamini keep a man trapped in the trap of Maya, the one who leaves them, he gets salvation, but the one who stays behind them, it is very difficult to get salvation.
