Maithili Thakur is an Indian singer . She sings Maithili and Bhojpuri songs which include Chhath Geet and Kajri . She also sings a variety of Bollywood covers and other traditional folk music from other states.
Biography
Maithili was born on 25 July 2000 in a small town called Benipatti located in the Madhubani district of Bihar . His father Ramesh Thakur, himself a popular musician in his field , and mother Bharti Thakur, a homemaker. He was named after his mother. He has two younger brothers named Rishav and Ayachi, who are his elder sister's musical assistants.They follow the journey, who accompany them by playing the tabla and singing. He learned music from his father. Realizing his daughter's potential to get more opportunities, Ramesh Thakur settled himself and his family in Dwarkanyar New Delhi. Maithili and her two brothers were educated at the Bal Bhavan International School there. Even during their studies, the three siblings were trained by their father in Hindustani classical music, harmonium and tabla (in Rishaw's case).
Maithili's musical journey began in 2011, when she appeared in a reality show titled Little Champs that aired on Zee TV. Although she had appeared in many local shows before, it was through this reality show that she got recognition. Four years later, he did another reality show, Indian Idol Junior, aired on Sony TV. But she became a national sensation through the reality show Rising Star, in which she finished as the runner-up. Right from the initial stages of the show, Maithili was more popular, who sang even challenging songs with ease.
She rose to fame in 2017 when she participated in Season 1 of Rising Star. Maithili was the first finalist of the show, she sang 'Om Namah Shivay', which earned her a direct entry to the finals. She finished second, losing by two votes. After the show, his internet popularity soared. His videos now get between 70,000 and 7 million views on YouTube and Facebook .
She is seen with her two younger brothers, Rishabh and Ayachi. Rishabh is on the tabla and Ayachi is a singer. In 2019, Maithili and her two brothers were made the brand ambassadors of Madhubani by the Election Commission. He won an Indian music show "I Genius Young Singing Star" in 2015 and also launched an album Ya Rabba (Universal Music). He has more than 9 million followers on his Facebook channel and more than 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube and has more than 2 million followers on Instagram.
